Bio & Background
Sarah has called Decatur home for 18 years, though her roots in the area go back even further — she grew up right here in DeKalb County. She built her own marketing agency from the ground up, working alongside small business owners throughout the community to help them grow and thrive. That work has taught her something valuable: how to listen to and connect with people from all walks of life. Family, faith, and neighbors form the bedrock of Sarah's life. For 17 years, she coached young girls through Girls on the Run, helping them build confidence and character one mile at a time. She helped launch the Brick Haven Farmers Market, bringing local vendors and residents together each week. You might also spot her logging miles with the Chattahoochee Road Runners or serving through the Rotary Club. Sarah believes that strong communities are built by people who show up — and that's exactly why she's running.
Why I'm Running
When our school district fired its eighth superintendent in nine years, I realized I had a choice: keep complaining from the sidelines or step up and be part of the solution. I chose to step up. I've watched too much money disappear into a system that keeps churning through leadership while our kids and teachers pay the price. That's not just frustrating — it's wrong. These are our tax dollars, our schools, our community. We deserve better stewardship than this. I'm running because I want the DeKalb County my children grow up in to be as wonderful as the one I moved to. I want to look back and know I actually made a difference — not just talked about making one. Our community deserves leaders who show up, pay attention, and fight for every dollar to be spent wisely. That's exactly what I intend to do.
